Mongolian Ground Beef Noodles

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 8 oz lo mein noodles
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ginger minced
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup green onions chopped
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes optional
  • sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  • Cook the noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  • Add the minced garlic and ginger to the beef and optional red pepper flakes, and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Stir in the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and brown sugar. Simmer for 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  • Toss the cooked noodles into the skillet, coating them in the beef and sauce mixture.
  • Top with sesame seeds and chopped green onions, and serve.
